Emerson offers wireless engineering services to assist you with the digital transformation of your plant using our WirelessHART® and Wireless Infrastructure, including Wireless Plant Networks and Plantweb Insight™. Our engineering consultants can help you with pre-implementation planning, including site surveys, and engineering studies. These engineering studies can involve discussions pertaining to product selection, network topology, Plantweb Insight software, and field services.
Emerson’s wireless engineering and services team consults with our customers to understand their requirements and goals of their project. Once we have completed that initial consult, we go onsite to gather the information needed to plan and implement the solution. For WirelessHART® only networks, a survey is completed to understand and document information such as line of sight and heights for devices, how dense is the plant infrastructure, and device and gateway placement.
Once completed, an engineering study (FEED) is performed. This includes an RF spectrum analysis that provides details on signal strength and data throughput and identifying access points and antenna locations for the wireless gateways and repeaters. This is for both WirelessHART® and Wi-Fi networks. The report is then shared with you, and we can discuss options around scaling your network (considering any additional or future applications) and installing any additional wireless infrastructure before we agree on the final scope of the project.
Installation and commissioning are then completed by our team of wireless engineers and wireless specialists. A dedicated project manager is assigned to each project. This project manager will lead the communications, scheduling, and execution of the project to meet your needs and project deliverables.
We also offer service contracts to maintain the installed base to ensure you have a reliable and lasting solution.
