Connext© provides a data link that enables data importation and connection of one tag to different protocols, streamlining of collection processes and savings of time and operations costs. It allows for any field device to communicate with SCADA, plant analytics and ERP systems.
Each server tag in a Multi Drive configuration can be connected simultaneously to different communication protocols. Using Internet of Things (IoT) protocols, data read in the field can be connected directly to remote systems or to data collection platforms in the cloud (Emerson Cloud.-Databoom-).

Connext OPC UA Server licensing policy
The Connext© Server offers a simple, modular and flexible license policy that adapts to your specific application needs.
The Connext© license model is based on the number to tags exchanged with the field, and includes optional features available for purchase on an as-need basis.

The Configurator (Editor) is integrated with Connext© and is used to create any type of data collection project by purchasing a one-time Configurator-Runtime license based on the quantity of project data needed.
The Connext© licenses are modular and based on the number of tags declared in a project and exchanged with the field.
‘Tag’ under licensing conditions refers to any variable connected to the field in bit, byte, word, float and double/long 64bit, even when defined as an array or structure member. Single bits of byte, word and other variable types can be pointed to.
Note: each member in Structure and Array variable types counts as one Tag.
Note: internal Tags (those not connected to the field) are not counted.
