1977 — Micro Motion founded by Jim Smith

In a garage in the foothills of Boulder, CO, electrical engineer Jim Smith launches Micro Motion.

1983 — Micro Motion Dual Tube Coriolis Meter

Addressing the demand for flow and density measurements for specialized applications including hygienic, corrosive and high pressure, the new Model D flow meters create a lasting impact on the industry.

The new ELITE Coriolis flow meters bring accurate, repeatable flow and density measurements for liquids, gases and multiphase flow measurements—even for the most challenging environments and applications.

Incorporating native flow, density and temperature measurements plus digital communications, the RFT9739 transmitter ushered in a new era in Micro Motion electronics. This transmitter would be sold in various forms for the next 31 years.

The F-Series sets the new standard for highly reliable, robust measurements. These smart meters ensure clients run their process more efficiently and resolve their toughest productivity challenges.

The launch of the T-Series Coriolis Flow and Density meter with its single straight-tube design provides customers with superior flow measurements. Featuring all titanium-wetted parts for excellent corrosion resistance, the new meters are self-draining with a plug-resistant flow path.

Powered by MVD Technology, the versatile, field-mount transmitters bring an advanced architecture and wide variety of I/O and application flexibilities to the industry, making them the top choice for compact integral mounting.

With the purchase of Solartron Mobrey, Emerson expands its Density & Viscosity portfolio, enabling it to better serve its customers with critical process measurements of liquids and gases.

APM is a software option available on the Micro Motion 5700 Coriolis Transmitter. It is an innovative solution that helps improve measurement accuracy across diverse industries in challenging multi-phase applications.

This design makes it possible to replace existing 2-wire flow devices with minimal effort and without incurring additional power or cabling costs. The unit is available in a remote-mount option for applications that require the transmitter to be located separately from the sensor.

With an available gas flow accuracy rating of 0.5% and pressures up to 1,060 bar, the Micro Motion HPC015 is ideal for high-pressure hydrogen dispensing.

Emerson’s Micro Motion HPC020 High-Pressure Coriolis Flow Meter has a larger nominal flow rate than previous products, expanding the ability to safely dispense hydrogen fuel at the efficiency required for heavy duty vehicles.

Emerson’s new transmitter with optional Bluetooth® display offers wireless configuration, avoiding the need for a hot work permit to connect to the device and increases productivity and safety. It also offers an easy migration path through Emerson’s retrofit adapter.
