A feature in the July 2022 issue of CONTROL magazine spotlighted Emerson expert Loic Charbonneau’s incisive outlook on the promising future of renewable hydrogen and its increasingly important role accelerating the global transition to a clean energy economy.
“Hydrogen will be used as a buffer,” said Charbonneau, “producing and storing energy when excess renewables are available, and reversing that process when they’re lacking,” he affirmed. “We'll end up with increased knowledge and maturity, and cost of energy will come down. It’s happened with all other renewables.”
